Summary
Managing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safety information is a critical part of lab compliance. For users without the SDS Automation feature, Quartzy still makes it easy to manage your safety documentation manually. This guide covers how to attach your own SDS files directly to inventory items, manually populate the Safety Details section, quickly filter for items with an SDS, and export your files for easy record-keeping.
When does the Safety Details section appear?
The Safety Details section will automatically appear on an inventory item's details page if any of the following conditions are met:
The item has an SDS attachment that was labeled as "SDS" upon upload
The item has a CAS number entered
-
The item Type is "Chemical - Hazardous"
Attach an SDS File and Edit Safety Details
You can manually attach SDS files and record crucial safety data for your inventory items. Here's how:
Navigate to the Inventory module and click on the item you want to update.
