Who can see the information that I add to Quartzy?
Only the people within a Quartzy Lab can see the contents of that Lab. On occasion when you request help from the Quartzy staff, and in order to provide support, a Quartzy employee may also access your account.
Note: Your login credentials are encrypted and never seen by anybody including the Quartzy staff.
Who owns the data in my Quartzy Lab?
You own your data. Quartzy does not have any rights to your data.
What profile and professional data are collected and what is done with them?
Profile Data = Name, title, profile picture, email address, institution, and Group name. These are the personal details you may enter under the Account heading.
Professional Data = Quantity and certain details about the items in your inventory, order requests, protocols, and equipment.
Quartzy may distribute anonymized and/or aggregated reports to third parties using profile and professional data. Individuals are NEVER identified in these reports. Quartzy does not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise disclose your profile or your professional data, other than as stated in Terms of Service, unless you first provide us with written or electronically transmitted permission to do so.
What is the possibility of the proprietary information in our Quartzy Lab becoming available outside of Quartzy?
It is important that you only invite/approve members to your Lab who should have access to the contents inside of it.
You should understand that no security measures are perfect, and while Quartzy makes considerable effort to preserve the integrity of Quartzy’s privacy structure a security breach can happen. In the event of a security breach we will notify the affected members immediately and repair the breach in a reasonable amount of time.
Will vendors/suppliers be able to see what my Lab is ordering?
As part of Quartzy's Effortless Quotes feature, we find better prices for you for the items your lab is already planning to purchase. Requests for commercially available items are anonymized and viewable by our vendor partners.
What information is shared with suppliers, if any?
Details about requests are collected anonymously in order to help Quartzy find the best prices for the items you request in the Requests module. No extra information is shared with us when completing a purchase than would be with any other vendor that you place orders with. It is no different than placing orders with other vendors.
