Quartzy mobile app is in development

Quartzy does not currently have a mobile app. Our engineers are working right now to make the web version the very best it can be!

You can use the internet browser on your mobile device or tablet to access Quartzy.

We hope to release a mobile app in the near future!

A mobile website or separate app would be super useful for quick catalogue searching/entry - hope to see this feature soon!

    Hi William,

Thanks for your input. I just wanted to let you know that our website CAN be used from your smartphone with a regular browser...it's just like having Quartzy in your pocket! Give it a try and tell us what you think :)

    Best,

    Sylvie

    Hi Sylvie,

Thanks for the reply, I do use Quartzy on my phone, but because it's not a mobile site, just the regular site, everything is very small and slightly fiddly to use, and quite slow.  This may be an artefact of my ancient hardware (iOS5/3GS) but a well set out mobile site, with drop down menus and bigger buttons, optimised for a smaller screen size, would mitigate a lot of zooming and scrolling.

It's great to see you guys taking all the feedback so seriously though, really makes me feel Quartzy is a good site to use :-)

    Best,

    Will

    Hi Sylvie,

I have to agree with Nick.  I also use Quartzy on my phone, but running it through the browser does not always work as it does on an actual browser.  I specifically have the most trouble with the facilities section.

    Best regards,

    Chris

    Hello!

I must say I feel the same. A mobile app would increase the popularity six fold. Most of our laboratory personal still lack internet access at home (Africa for you) and cellphones are much more common.

If you do get the mobile app running please let us know, it would be the best news since finding quartzy*

    Regards

    G

Hi All! I wanted to post an update to this page about using Quartzy on your mobile browser. With the recent visual updates we made to the site (May 2014) our engineers were able to improve the site's functionality on mobile devices as well!

The page will now automatically size to fit your screen and the menu options that are usually on the top toolbar, now have their own Menu button. Check back here for future updates on this topic and announcements about the development of an app. :)

I feel that when it comes to inventory management and ordering, it would be beneficial to have an app that would use the camera on smart devices to read labels and automatically generate product information. It would also help for ordering and keeping track. Heres to hoping! :)

    Hi Devin,

Thanks for the suggestion! I think that would be a really cool feature to allow for easier ordering and pulling catalog details. I'll add this idea to the feature request list and post and updates here if this is developed. :)

Wait! Quartzy DID have an app - I had it on my phone waaaay back when. Still have a copy on the computer somewhere... Even then it was more convenient to use from a mobile device than the website. I would think that it would be a better business long range plan to reinstate the mobile app rather than try to re-engineer the website to be configured correctly for most devices. G

    Hi Gary,

We definitely plan to create an app that will be native to mobile devices instead of having users use the internet browser on their mobile devices. Right now, our product and engineering teams are working on improvements to the website overall. A mobile app would ideally compliment the full website and not be a complete copy of it.

They are deciding on the best time to implement the mobile app and when that happens, we will definitely be making a big announcement to all of our users. :)

Quartzy would be perfect if it had a mobile site or app. My main problem with he site in Safari browser is that the calendar is horrible to use and can't drag events to different times it make longer than 30 mins.

Awesome site! Excited to hear app is in the works!

    Hi Kylie,

We're very excited for the app as well so all of our users will definitely know when it becomes available! The calendar is one of he big reasons we want to make a native mobile app since some of those features are not really compatible with mobile. Check here for updates on this feature release. :)

One more vote on Mobile app like amazon store. If possible, scanner would be very helpful to search. If Quartzy has this tool, all lab workers will join to quartzy to enjoy the app.

    Hi Tim and Bada,

These are great additional suggestions! One of the things that we need to consider with developing a mobile app is which features would be the most beneficial to use while on the go on mobile which will compliment the full set of features on the web.

I passed these requests on to our Product Team for consideration. We'll be sure to update users when an app is developed. :)

We just had a meeting about implementing Quartzy on our site. And one of the biggest things for users is how easy can they access everything. Quartzy definitely needs to develop an app. It will make your product very appealing to all of the companies who don't really think they need it or not. Opening a browser on the website is not convenient.

    Hi Elena,

I totally agree and a mobile app is on the roadmap!

Our team is planning a big update to the web app this Spring so it's most likely that later in 2017 that the mobile app will get prioritized for development with features that will compliment the full web version. We'll be very excited to share news of a mobile app once it's ready for testing so keep an eye on your email later this year. :)
